A botanist and his wife are located in a cabin deep in a pine forest. He is conducting research for East State University. She is a photographer and came along to take pictures of the wild life. The husband leaves to do some research and plans to be back the next day. Later that day a runaway convict surprises the wife while out in the forest taking pictures. The convict intimidates her and takes her back to the cabin where he waits for the husband to return in order to steal his truck to make his getaway. When he realizes she has lied to him about her husband returning in a few hours, the convict loses his temper and strikes her. The woman crumples to the floor.

The husband senses that something is wrong and decides to head back to the cabin. The convict gathers some provisions and takes off into the forest where he encounters some wild animals. He panics and returns to the cabin where he is relieved that the woman is OK. She begins to talk to him about his family. She then ministers to him telling him that she forgives him because God forgave us through the sacrifice of his only son. The husband arrives with the police and the convict decides to give himself up after the woman convinces him that his actions can only add to the long list of regrets in his life. The film ends with a great message and a couple of twists.
